ABOUT THRIVE 2027
While Cumberland County is a great place to live and work, not everyone is doing well. Too many kids in our community do not read at grade level, too many of our neighbors cannot afford their basic necessities, including housing, and too many people are dying early from preventable causes. That’s why hundreds of organizations and individuals are united under our community’s shared vision, Thrive2027.
Thrive2027 is not a program, it is a driving movement that unites community members to accelerate change. It is a deeply coordinated and collaborative effort, which began in 2016, and is led by United Way of Greater Portland. It includes a broad range of community members across all sectors working to achieve three 10-year goals – to give kids a strong start; empower neighbors to thrive – not just survive; and help us all live longer, better!
